AGENDA

  1. To receive apologies for non-attendance
  2. To receive any declarations of interest in items included on this Agenda and to note a dispensation to participate in discussions, but not to vote, has been granted to Cllr Dawn Carey in relation to the youth awards (item 6).
  3. To receive and approve the minutes of the Committee meeting held on 28th September
  4. To note updates to the Action List
  5. Motions for note/resolution

5.1 To resolve the council’s position with regards organising and funding commemorative events and parades for Armed Forces Day and Remembrance day 2021 (see report)

5.2 To receive and consider a proposal from Cllr Keen that she will organise a gardening competition in 2021 with prizes funded by the town council at a cost of £100 to be paid from the event budget.

5.3 To receive an update from Cllr Mike Murphy on the activities & progress of the Crosses Penn Community Sports Trust

5.4 To receive an update from Cllr Clayton on the Christmas lights virtual switch-on

5.5 To resolve whether to proceed with the annual Christmas lights competition and agree any process

5.6 To note that the deputy clerk is representing the council and working with Litter Free Coast to combat dog fouling; press updates will be periodically issued.

5.7 To consider and agree the draft committee budget for 2021-2022

5.8 To note that the Wildlife Trust has acknowledged the council’s agreement to support an application to the SCC Climate Fund and has stated it will proceed with an application for the full £75k, with West Monkton PC being named the lead council.

5.9 To note the Springboard vacancy report.

5.10  To resolve what amount should be moved to EMR from events budget for the Youth Awards in April 2021

5.11 To consider and approve the updated plans submitted by Wicksteed for the seafront play area and to approve that funds from other aspects of the CIM seafront works (seafront signage, bins, benches and shelter) are required to be used within the play area.

7. The next meeting of this committee will be held on Monday 11th January 2021 at 7pm.

Grant Application Kings Coronation Form

The Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III will take place on Saturday 6th May 2023, with an additional bank holiday on Monday 8th May 2023.

We are keen to hear from groups/organisations in Burnham-on-Sea and Highbridge that are looking to celebrate the Coronation. The Town Council has £1500 available to allocate to events being organised to celebrate the Kings Coronation. The maximum grant to be allocated per event will be £500.

You must meet the following criteria for your application to be considered:

– The event will be open to all members of the public

– The event will be free of charge

– The event will take place within the Coronation weekend

– The event will take place within Burnham on Sea or Highbridge

 

Applications will close on Monday 6th March at midday.
