Burnham-on-Sea and Highbridge Town Council are delighted to announce that Burnham and Highbridge Community Clothing, a volunteer-run service, will officially open its doors on Wednesday 4th March at the Apex Park Office. This marks a significant step forward in supporting local residents and promoting sustainable reuse of clothing within the community. The new location offers increased space, flexibility and improved accessibility for anyone who needs the service.
Community Clothing will now operate every Wednesday from 4pm until 6pm, offering a welcoming space where individuals and families can access good‑quality, pre‑loved clothing at no cost. The initiative was set up by Emily Beaven and Kim Chatwin with the aim to reduce financial pressure on households, encourage recycling and reduce textile waste by giving clothing items a second life.
Councillor Facey, Mayor of Burnham-on-Sea and Highbridge said “The Town Council are thrilled to welcome Community Clothing to the Apex Park Office. This is a project built on generosity and community spirit and we hope it becomes a space where people feel supported and connected.”
