On 26th March the Burnham-on-Sea & Highbridge Town Council Civic Awards 2026 were held at the Princess Theatre and Arts Centre.
Councillor Mike Facey, Mayor of Burnham-on-Sea and Highbridge and Councillor Paul Wynn, Deputy Mayor presented the awards to the winners.
The worthy winners selected from nominations submitted by members of the public were:
Roger Flower – Individual award for help and support within the community
For 23 years of service with BARB Search and Rescue.

Ann Popham – Individual award for lifetime achievement
For Ann’s dedication to preserving the history and heritage of Burnham-on-Sea and Highbridge:

Anne-Marie Booton – award for individual who has gone above and beyond in helping other people
For Anne’s bravery, and kindness working with people who are suffering with dementia:

Highbridge and Burnham-on-Sea Local Pantry – Community Group Award for services to residents of Burnham-on-Sea and Highbridge
For providing low-cost surplus food to those in need:

After the awards, guests enjoyed a buffet, accompanied by a superb performance from piano soloist Will Blake of Will Blake Entertainment, whose music provided a wonderful atmosphere for the evening.
Councillor Mike Facey, Mayor of Burnham-on-Sea and Highbridge said:
