Christmas Lights Competition returns in Burnham and Highbridge

Would you like to win a prize in recognition of your house Christmas lights display? The Town Council is once again inviting all residences in Burnham-on-Sea & Highbridge to enter this year’s Christmas Light Competition.
If you want your residential property display to be judged to see if it can win a prize, then please email us with your name, address and telephone number at admin@burnham-highbridge-tc.gov.uk

The categories are as follows:
Best Individual = £25 voucher for the Princess Theatre & Arts Centre, a trophy and a winner’s certificate Runner up = £10 voucher for the Princess Theatre & Arts Centre and a certificate
Best Individual = £25 voucher for the Princess Theatre & Arts Centre a trophy and a certificate
Runner up = £10 voucher for the Princess Theatre & Arts Centre and a certificate

The Town Council is also organising a Christmas window competition for small businesses/shop fronts, which the chambers of trade have been invited to judge. Prizes include a £25 winner’s voucher for the Princess Theatre & Arts Centre and a £10 voucher for the runner-up. There is no need to register for entry to the business competition.

The trophies will be engraved and given to the winners to hold for a year, to be returned.

Closing date for entries: Wednesday 15 December 2021
Judging will take place after this date of the 15th December.

The winners will be notified by email and this year’s prizes will be given at a presentation in January 2022.

Grant Application Kings Coronation Form

The Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III will take place on Saturday 6th May 2023, with an additional bank holiday on Monday 8th May 2023.

We are keen to hear from groups/organisations in Burnham-on-Sea and Highbridge that are looking to celebrate the Coronation. The Town Council has £1500 available to allocate to events being organised to celebrate the Kings Coronation. The maximum grant to be allocated per event will be £500.

You must meet the following criteria for your application to be considered:

– The event will be open to all members of the public

– The event will be free of charge

– The event will take place within the Coronation weekend

– The event will take place within Burnham on Sea or Highbridge


Applications will close on Monday 6th March at midday.

Applications will be considered at the Finance and Resources Committee Meeting on Monday 13th March 2023. You will be notified after this date whether your application has been successful.
