Sedgemoor District Council have partnered with local community based organisation, SBA CIC to provide a modern-day youth hub service for 18-24’s within Sedgemoor. The project, to be known as ‘The Hub’ will be both a digital platform and face-to-face advisory service for young people to access information, advice and guidance on employment, careers and skills. The aim is to help young people build confidence, make connections, access support and learn about themselves, their interests and how to prepare for the future. The Hub will also provide 1-1 advice, employability skills workshops and access to work opportunities.
Caroline Derrick – Sedgemoor DC – Employment, Skills & Training Manager says “We are proud to be championing this project and so pleased to be in a position to launch with SBA CIC. We know the local community will benefit greatly from this project and we are looking forward to seeing individuals thrive”
She goes on to add “We see this as an opportunity for young people in Sedgemoor to get hands on support and experience to achieve their goals. It’s a chance for us to work closely with industry links and community partners in a dedicated, collaborative effort”
The launch date and venue for this exciting new service is to be confirmed.
