The Armistice was an agreement to end the fighting of the First World War as a prelude to peace negotiations and began on the 11th November 1918 at 11 am .
On Friday the 11th November at 11 am the Town Council will be holding a short service at the flag pole in Pier Street / Station Approach to mark Armistice Day and to remember the people who lost their lives in wars around the world. The flag will be lowered to half-mast followed by two minutes silence and prayers. If you would like to join us at the flag pole you will be most welcome.
