The Mayor of Burnham-on-Sea & Highbridge Town Council, Councillor Mike Facey, held a constructive meeting with Avon and Somerset Police and Crime Commissioner Clare Moody on Friday 23rd January.

During the discussion, the Mayor highlighted several ongoing concerns within the community including unauthorised encampments, associated shoplifting incidents, and issues arising from van dwellers parking along the seafront and other local roads.

Councillor Facey also noted that, following a productive meeting with Superintendent Lisa Simpson, who provided the Council with a clear overview of current policing approaches, there has been a noticeable increase in police presence across the area.

Residents are encouraged to continue to report incidents, as this information helps the police identify trends and deploy officers more effectively.
