M5 J21 – J22 northbound and southbound maintenance works

Monday 31 October to Tuesday 1 November 2022

National Highways operates, maintains and improves England’s motorways and major A-roads. They will shortly be carrying out essential maintenance works on the M5 between junction 21 (St Georges interchange) and junction 22 (Edithmead interchange).

The work will start on the evening of Monday 31 October and finish on the morning of Tuesday 1 November, and will take place overnight between the hours of 9pm and 5am.

To minimise disruption, they’ll work on a weeknight when there are fewer vehicles on the road. During the day they will keep the road open as usual.

The work is currently programmed as follows:

  • Monday 31 October to Tuesday 1 November full overnight closure from junction 21 to junction 22 for 1 night from 9pm until 5am the following morning.

There will be a fully signed diversion route in place during the full overnight closure, but please allow extra time for your journey.

They’ll make every effort to ensure the impact on the local community and travelling public is kept to a minimum. They always aim to work to the programme, however unforeseen circumstances or adverse weather conditions may mean changes.
