NOTICE OF ELECTION

Burnham and Highbridge Town Council, Highbridge WardElection of A Town Councillor

1. An election of one Town Councillor for the Highbridge Ward of Burnham and Highbridge Town Council is to be held on 4 July 2024

2. Nomination papers must be delivered to the Returning Officer at Electoral Services, Bridgwater House, King Square, Bridgwater, Somerset, TA6 3AR between 10.00am and12.30pm and 1.30pm and 4.00pm on any working day from Friday 31 May 2024 but no later than 4pm on Friday 7 June 2024.  

3. Nomination papers may be obtained from the offices of the Returning Officer, Electoral Services, Bridgwater House, King Square, Bridgwater, Somerset, TA6 3AR, during the times stated above.

4. If any election is contested the poll will take place on Thursday 4 July 2024.

5. Applications to register to vote must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 12 midnight on Tuesday, 18 June 2024. Applications can be made online: https://www.gov.uk/register-to-vote.

6. Applications, amendments or cancellations of postal votes must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Electoral Services, Bridgwater House, King Square, Bridgwater, Somerset, TA6 3AR by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, 19 June 2024.

7. Applications for a Voter Authority Certificate or an Anonymous Elector’s Document valid for this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 5 p.m. on Wednesday 26 June 2024. Applications for a Voter Authority Certificate can be made online: https://www.gov.uk/apply-for-photo-id-voter-authority-certificate.

8. Applications to vote by proxy at this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Electoral Services, Bridgwater House, King Square, Bridgwater, Somerset, TA6 3AR by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, 26 June 2024.

9. Applications to vote by emergency proxy at this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Electoral Services, Bridgwater House, King Square, Bridgwater, Somerset, TA6 3AR by 5 p.m. on Thursday, 4 July 2024.

Grant Application Kings Coronation Form

The Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III will take place on Saturday 6th May 2023, with an additional bank holiday on Monday 8th May 2023.

We are keen to hear from groups/organisations in Burnham-on-Sea and Highbridge that are looking to celebrate the Coronation. The Town Council has £1500 available to allocate to events being organised to celebrate the Kings Coronation. The maximum grant to be allocated per event will be £500.

You must meet the following criteria for your application to be considered:

– The event will be open to all members of the public

– The event will be free of charge

– The event will take place within the Coronation weekend

– The event will take place within Burnham on Sea or Highbridge

 

Applications will close on Monday 6th March at midday.

Applications will be considered at the Finance and Resources Committee Meeting on Monday 13th March 2023. You will be notified after this date whether your application has been successful.
