Wheelchair Users Engagement Group for Somerset

The Somerset Clinical Commissioning Group have invited Clive Rymer, Community Health and Engagement Officer for the Somerset Wheelchair Service, to start up a Wheelchair Users Engagement Board. The aim of the board is to give a voice to those who use a wheelchair, their families, or to carers, about the County’s NHS Wheelchair Service in Somerset.

Clive is asking those who use a wheelchair, or those who have an interest in the Somerset service, to consider joining in.  The very first meeting will be on ‘TEAMS’, towards the end of April with the exact date to be confirmed shortly. There will be an agenda, with an open section for any constructive comments to be made and an opportunity to flag individual issues (to be dealt with off camera).

To both listen to and support Somerset wheelchair users ,the meeting will be attended by representatives from the CCG, the Wheelchair Service provider and Millbrook Healthcare as well as invited guests from selected NHS service providers, equipment manufacturers and appropriate professionals. It is hoped that in the future there will be the opportunity to have a ‘hybrid’ meeting, allowing face-to-face contact between delegates.

Clive says “I and the many wheelchair users who cannot speak out hope you can assist and support this project.”

If you are interested in becoming involved in this exciting project you can contact Clive
