NOTICE OF ELECTION

Police and Crime Commissioner Election
Avon and Somerset Police Area

  1. An election is to be held for the Police and Crime Commissioner for the Avon and Somerset Police Area.
  2. Nomination papers can be obtained from the office of the Police Area Returning Officer at the Guildhall, High Street, Bath, BA1 5AW, between 10am and 4pm on any working day after publication of this notice.
    Copies of the nomination papers can be downloaded from www.avonpccelection.org.uk
    Copies can also be requested either by calling 01225 477431 or by emailing elections@bathnes.gov.uk
  3. Nomination papers must be hand delivered to the office of the Police Area Returning Officer at the Guildhall, High Street, Bath, BA1 5AW, between 10am and 4pm on any working day after publication of this notice but no later than 4pm on Thursday 8 April 2021. Candidates and agents are advised to book an appointment to submit their nomination papers, either by calling 01225 477431 or by emailing elections@bathnes.gov.uk
  4. The £5,000 deposit can be paid: (a) by legal tender, or (b) by means of a banker’s draft from a drawer which carries on business as a banker in the United Kingdom, or (c) by electronic transfer of funds.
  5. If the election is contested the poll will take place on Thursday 6 May 2021.
  6. New applications to register to vote must reach the relevant Electoral Registration Officer (contact details below) by midnight on Monday 19 April 2021.
    Applications can be made online via www.gov.uk/register-to-vote
  7. New applications to vote by post or by postal proxy, and amendments or cancellations to existing postal or proxy arrangements, must reach the relevant Electoral Registration Officer by 5pm on Tuesday 20 April 2021.
  8. New applications to vote by proxy must reach the relevant Electoral Registration Officer by 5pm on Tuesday 27 April 2021.
  9. Applications to vote by emergency proxy on the grounds of a medical emergency or for work/service reasons must reach the relevant Electoral Registration Officer by 5pm on Thursday 6 May 2021. The medical emergency must have occurred after 5pm on Tuesday 27 April 2021. To apply on the grounds of work/service, the person must have become aware after 5pm on Tuesday 27 April 2021 that they cannot go to the polling station in person.

Grant Application Kings Coronation Form

The Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III will take place on Saturday 6th May 2023, with an additional bank holiday on Monday 8th May 2023.

We are keen to hear from groups/organisations in Burnham-on-Sea and Highbridge that are looking to celebrate the Coronation. The Town Council has £1500 available to allocate to events being organised to celebrate the Kings Coronation. The maximum grant to be allocated per event will be £500.

You must meet the following criteria for your application to be considered:

– The event will be open to all members of the public

– The event will be free of charge

– The event will take place within the Coronation weekend

– The event will take place within Burnham on Sea or Highbridge

 

Applications will close on Monday 6th March at midday.

Applications will be considered at the Finance and Resources Committee Meeting on Monday 13th March 2023. You will be notified after this date whether your application has been successful.
