Poll cards have been dropping onto doormats ahead of the elections on Thursday, 6th May when residents in Sedgemoor will have their say on who should be the next Avon and Somerset Police and Crime Commissioner, together with Burnham-on-Sea by-election and also neighbourhood plan referendum in Nether Stowey.    The Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC), who oversees your local police force and ensures they are prioritising what matters to you.

Your poll card, gives you all the information you need, including the day and time of the election and where your polling station is. It also gives details of how you can make arrangements for a postal or proxy vote.  There is a useful polling station finder on our website, to make sure you go to the right place to cast your vote.    Elections 2021 – Sedgemoor District Council

To be able to vote at the elections on Thursday 6 May, you must be registered by midnight on Monday, 19th April. It takes just five minutes to apply online at gov.uk/register-to-vote.   Anyone who is registered to vote can apply for a postal vote before 1700 hrs on Tuesday, 20th April. The deadline for a proxy vote application is 1700 hrs on Tuesday, 27th April.

Grant Application Kings Coronation Form

The Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III will take place on Saturday 6th May 2023, with an additional bank holiday on Monday 8th May 2023.

We are keen to hear from groups/organisations in Burnham-on-Sea and Highbridge that are looking to celebrate the Coronation. The Town Council has £1500 available to allocate to events being organised to celebrate the Kings Coronation. The maximum grant to be allocated per event will be £500.

You must meet the following criteria for your application to be considered:

– The event will be open to all members of the public

– The event will be free of charge

– The event will take place within the Coronation weekend

– The event will take place within Burnham on Sea or Highbridge

 

Applications will close on Monday 6th March at midday.

Applications will be considered at the Finance and Resources Committee Meeting on Monday 13th March 2023. You will be notified after this date whether your application has been successful.
