72/20/PC        Applications considered under delegated authority Pavement License applications for Mr Beans, BOS Café and May’s Cafe.

The meeting NOTED the three applications; Mr Beans, BOS Café and May’s Café were considered under delegated authority. Following comments from the Town Council that were taken into account and addressed the temporary pavement licenses were granted to the three Cafés.

73/20/PC        Request for support for a proposed parking bay in 15 – 19 Regent St. Burnham-on-Sea

The meeting discussed the four options and heard from the Transport Consultant that the previous comments from the Town Council had been taken into consideration.

The meeting agreed to support option 1 – to move the loading bay from the western end of Regent Street to the eastern end, so that the current loading bay would become a parking bay with no net loss of parking or loading ability.

The meeting considered the responses from councillors and with a minor change agreed that the consultation document was submitted.

The Chairman thanked councillors Sue and Phil Harvey for their diligence and perseverance in responding to the consultation questions.

The meeting NOTED Somerset County Council notice of intention to establish a pedestrian crossing (Zebra crossing) and The Traffic Regulation Order for the prohibition and restriction of stopping, waiting, loading and unloading and on-street parking on Burnham Road, Highbridge.

It was noted that the next meeting of this committee will be held on Wednesday 28th October 2020 at 7pm.

The Chairman closed the meeting at 8.39pm

Grant Application Kings Coronation Form

The Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III will take place on Saturday 6th May 2023, with an additional bank holiday on Monday 8th May 2023.

We are keen to hear from groups/organisations in Burnham-on-Sea and Highbridge that are looking to celebrate the Coronation. The Town Council has £1500 available to allocate to events being organised to celebrate the Kings Coronation. The maximum grant to be allocated per event will be £500.

You must meet the following criteria for your application to be considered:

– The event will be open to all members of the public

– The event will be free of charge

– The event will take place within the Coronation weekend

– The event will take place within Burnham on Sea or Highbridge

 

Applications will close on Monday 6th March at midday.
