On Friday 4th March the Mayor of Burnham and Highbridge, Cllr Mike Facey, held a Civic Awards event at The Princess Theatre and Arts Centre. The evening was enjoyed by this year’s civic award winners and guests. Last year’s award winners who had previously received their awards in Marine Cove, but who missed out on having a celebration, were also invited to come along for the evening and be mentioned for their services to the community.
Following the presentation of the awards by Mayor Cllr Mike Facey and Deputy Mayor Cllr Andy Hodge guests enjoyed a buffet and light entertainment from talented local lyricist Tim Dean and his guitar.
At the end of the night Cllr Mike Facey said “It was an honour to spend an evening in the company of those people in our community who represent the very best of us. Congratulations to all the deserving civic award winners, it has been a pleasure to acknowledge your good works”.
