Local elections are taking place in Somerset on May 5th 2022. The window for nominations opens in just two weeks’ time.
Town and parish councils are always looking for new people to become involved and stand for election. Each council has different functions and performs different services, which mean it can sometimes be difficult to describe what it is that a town or parish council does. However, anyone thinking of standing for election will want to know more about the work of local councils before putting themselves forward.
Free SALC Forum
The Somerset Association of Local Councils is hosting an online information event for anyone who is interested in standing for election / becoming a councillor and who wants to know a little more.
This event is for prospective councillors only – it is not for existing councillors.
SALC will have some councillors online for the session who will share their experiences and answer any questions.
Date: Monday 21st March @ 6:00pm
