11/21/033

Location:36 Burnham Road, Highbridge, Somerset, TA9 3JH
Proposal:Formation of new driveway and drop kerb to the front of property.
Case Officer:Amelia Elvé
Applicant:Mr A Tooke

The meeting made the following comments; there was already off road parking at the rear of the property for three vehicles and the access would have deliberately been created at the rear when the property was built presumably for safety reasons, the plan didn’t show a visibility splay or show the bus stop in relation to the dropped kerb.

Comment:    Object on the grounds of road safety as there are concerns regarding the proximity of the bus stop in relation to the proposed highway access. There would be more pedestrians using the area because of the bus stop and the proximity of the school. It is very close to the busy junctions with Pepperal Road and Morland Road. There was also concern regarding visibility on exiting the access because of the panel of the bus shelter.
