Minutes of the meeting held on Wednesday 4th August 2021 7pm in the Council Chamber, the Old Courthouse, Jaycroft Rd, Burnham-on-Sea

Present: Cllr Andy Brewer (Chairman), Cllrs Peter Clayton, Julie Flurry, Nick Tolley, Louise Parkin, Sue Harvey with Lorna Williams (Deputy Clerk) in attendance.

Two members of the public were present and one member of the press.

The minutes of the Planning Committee meeting held on 14th July 2021 were approved as a correct record and signed by the Chairman.

Proposal:Formation of new entrance and access track.

Comment: This application was no longer required to be considered as the decision had already been made by the Planning Authority although it had been agreed for this council to have been granted a date extension.

Proposal:Change of use of 1no. dwelling to 2no. self- contained flats and loft conversion to provide additional living accommodation, installation of roof lights to front (West) and rear (East) elevations, installation of a balcony on top of existing rear extension, removal of chimney stacks, application of external render and associated alterations.

A request had been made by the case officer if the meeting would reconsider their objections, since alterations to the scheme had been made. The meeting felt that their observations demonstrated that they were having a positive input and was recognised by the planning authority.

Comment:    The meeting agreed to withdraw their previous objections as the flood risk to the downstairs occupants had been addressed and that the rendering of the property fell within permitted development.

                        There were none

93/21/PC       Correspondence from the Clerk

                        Themeeting received information from the Clerk regarding application 11/21/033 – 36 Burnham Road. It had been noticed that work had started with regard to access to the property from the main road. The meeting was reminded that this meetings observations were to object to the application on road safety grounds. The case officer had been informed and the response had been that the they were aware that works were continuing and that the applicant and agent will be reminded that any works they do would be at their own risk.

Grant Application Kings Coronation Form

The Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III will take place on Saturday 6th May 2023, with an additional bank holiday on Monday 8th May 2023.

We are keen to hear from groups/organisations in Burnham-on-Sea and Highbridge that are looking to celebrate the Coronation. The Town Council has £1500 available to allocate to events being organised to celebrate the Kings Coronation. The maximum grant to be allocated per event will be £500.

You must meet the following criteria for your application to be considered:

– The event will be open to all members of the public

– The event will be free of charge

– The event will take place within the Coronation weekend

– The event will take place within Burnham on Sea or Highbridge

 

Applications will close on Monday 6th March at midday.
